Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar on Wednesday, Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) instructed to coordinate closely with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to ensure a smooth and efficient execution of the plans for Pakistanis -baked, because of the tense situation in the Middle East.
DAR was chairman of a meeting to review the ongoing evacuation of Pakistani nationals, currently, stranded in Iran and Iraq.
The meeting attended the Foreign Secretary and other senior officials, noted a statement from his office.
DAR was informed of the progress made so far and evacuation plans for the coming days. He expressed satisfaction with the efforts he instructed that the Foreign Office would speed up the repatriation plan in coordination with other departments and provide all help to those still stranded there.
Pia’s special operation
In light of the deteriorating situation in Iran, the government has instructed Pia to initiate evacuation efforts. Due to the closure of the Iranian airspace, stranded Pakistanis traveled by land to Ashgabat, the capital of Turkmenistan, where Pia’s special flight PK-9552 was arranged to bring them home.
The first special flight, carrying 107 passengers, landed in Islamabad from Ashgabat. The flight, which carries men, women, elderly citizens and children, arrived safely at Islamabad at. Pakistani embassies in Iran and Turkmenistan played a crucial role in facilitating the whole process.
A spokesman for Pia stated that the national carrier was running the flight on the government’s instructions. “To serve the nation in times of crisis is a continuation of our decades old tradition,” the spokesman added.
TAFTAN border
At the same time, Pakistan has intensified efforts to repatriate its citizens from Iran via the Taftan boundary transition in response to escalating regional instability. Over 1,450 Pakistani nationals have so far returned securely, with more than 500 individuals arriving at the border alone on Tuesday.
According to the taxes, the returned pilgrims, business people, workers, students and these were resident in different parts of Iran. Of those, 250 individuals were immediately transported to their hometowns in specially arranged vehicles.
Authorities have deployed dedicated teams at the TAFTAN border to provide important services, including temporary shelter, clean drinking water, medical treatment and immigration assistance, ensuring a coordinated and human repatriation process.
Rakhshan Division -Commissioner Muhammad Hamza Shafqaat visited the intersection to review events and interact with the recurring citizens. He assured them that the administration “made a lot of efforts to solve their problems and provide any possible help”.
The operation is carried out under the supervision of the federal government and relevant disaster management agencies, which continue to monitor the situation closely in accordance with national emergency protocols.
The great evacuation comes in the midst of increased geopolitical tensions between Iran and Israel, highlighting the speed of efforts and the government’s obligation to protect Pakistani nationals abroad.
