Lahore:
Now that Pia has resumed its aircraft to the European Union (EU), the leadership of the cash tape national flag carries high hopes that the authorities of the United Kingdom (UK) will also give it permission to resume its flight to that UK After a lapse of over four years.
Sources revealed that the British Security Committee is scheduled to review the request for resumption of PIA flights at its meeting scheduled for March 12.
The British Civil Aviation Authority and Department of Transport (DFT) team will present the recent Audit Report of Pia and Civil Aviation Authority Pakistan at the meeting. If approved by the British Security Committee, Pia’s direct aircraft to the UK will also be restored.
The PIA management is sure to resume flights to the UK.
The airline has already prepared a plan to immediately start operations to London, Manchester and Birmingham as soon as approval is awarded. A two-member Pia team recently returned to Pakistan after assessing preparations for flight operations in the UK, sources added.
The EU and UK aircraft authorities introduced a temporary ban on Pia in June 2020, after the Aviation Minister under the PTI rule revealed in parliament that a number of pilots in Pakistan had false licenses.
