The first robotic surgery in the history of Islamabad was successfully performed at PIMS Hospital where a female patient underwent an advanced surgery using modern robotic technology.
The operation was performed using a state-of-the-art ‘Tomai’ surgical robot, manufactured in China, with the participation of experts from the UK.
Director of robotic surgery Dr. Mateen Sharif told the media that the mission is to introduce robotic surgery throughout Pakistan with government support. “Robotic surgery allows patients to recover faster and ensures more accurate results,” he said.
