With the beginning of the season before the monsoon, Rawalpindi Municipal Corporation (RMC), Rawalpindi District Council, Cantonment Boards and Evacuee Trust Property Board have emitted final red messages-some for the second time the evacuation of 285 multi-floor buildings, leaking during fallout.
Rawalpindi-Vice Commissioner Hasan Waqar Cheema has introduced a ban on dumping of waste, building material and other waste in the 22 km long Nullah Leh and 15 storm water drainage.
Station House Officers (SHOS) from police stations have been instructed to register cases against offenders.
Following directives from the district administration, residents of low-lying areas along the Nullah Leh have begun to move valuables fighters, refrigerators, sofas and other household items-to safer locations.
Some families have already started with temporary relocation.
To deal with potential floods, the Civil Defense Department, District Administration and 111 Brigade have decided to implement joint-dress repetitions next week.
These exercises will be performed in low -lying areas near Rawal Dam, including Nadeem Colony and Javed Colony, and will involve civil defense, police and rescue 1122.
The meteorological department’s forecast for the rain before Monsun next week has caused concern among residents living near the storm water channels.
Fifteen temporary items with civilian defender have been activated in these areas.

These properties that were once owned by Hindus and Sikhs are structurally unhealthy and overdue for repairs. The District Council has warned building owners that structures that have not been vacated will be torn.
Three tenants have challenged the messages in court. The court has issued messages to the District Council and chief executive of the municipal company to submit an answer.
District Civil Defense Officer Talib Hussain confirmed that preparations are complete for the full dress general test in Javed Colony and Nadeem Colony.
The over season in Rawalpindi has officially been declared from July 1 to September 15.
