Pindi imposes water limits in the middle of drought

Rawalpindi:

The worsened drought and a 42 percent fall in rainfall have caused groundwater levels in rawalpindi to fall to a critical depth of 800 feet.

In response, the Department of Environmental Protection and Climate Change has introduced an immediate ban on the use of pipe wells, wells and dull water for the construction of buildings, houses and squares.

Transforms will have a fine of RS10,000, the department said.

In addition, strict directives have been issued to close all illegal and non -approved car washing stations.

In order to enforce these measures, the Environmental Protection and Climate Change Department, Rawalpindi-Water and Sanitary Agency (WASA), municipal companies and district councils have begun operations towards car washing stations.

Authorities have issued formal messages to all 3,500 service stations in Rawalpindi City, District Council areas and the entire division, which instructs them to voluntarily comply with the new restrictions before February 28.

The crash begins on Monday, with a separate operation targeting recycling system installations from the water from March 3rd.

Immediate action will also be taken to prevent unnecessary water waste.
