Rawalpindi:
In the light of a potential conflict between Pakistan and India, the Rawal Pindi District Administration and Civil Defense Department has completed emergency response measures to deal with unforeseen emergencies. Sixteen emergency sirens installed all over the city, including Central Pilot Siren on the Civil Defense Office, have been fully activated and updated.
In addition, 38 rescue and monitoring checkpoints are now operational 24/7.
These include 24 positions managed by the Civil Defense Department and 14 by Rescue 1122, all staffed by staff.
Civil Defense has also launched formal combat education for its 3,500 volunteers and interested young people.
Education is completed at Rawalpindi Cantt Police Station, Mission Higher Secondary School in Raja Bazaar and Civil Defense Office.
Another training center at Denny’s Higher Secondary School will be operational within 24 hours.
For the first time, Women Volunteers also receives Combat Rescue Training.
At the Civil Defense headquarters, they are trained to save the wounded, evacuate citizens from burning or collapsing buildings and extinguishing fires. Exercise is completed daily.

A new policy mandate that, in any emergency or test scenario, will the central pilot siren on the Civil Defense Office in Kaceri first sounds, followed by all sirens in the area.
Checkpoint staff and volunteers must immediately report to their designated positions after hearing the sirens.
District manager Civil Defense, Talib Hussain, told The Express Pakinomist that whether in peace or crisis, the department remains on duty.
He said that under the strict supervision of Deputy Commissioner Hasan Waqar Cheema, all volunteers have been mobilized and undergo battle rescue exercises. Senior Instructors Nasir Kayani and Sadaf Zahoor lead the practical sessions, while Halima Saadia trains the female volunteers.
According to Hussain, civilian defense preparations in Rawalpindi are complete.
Firefighter and rescue equipment have been activated, staff magazines canceled and around the clock allotted.
