Karachi:

Pir Pagara, the spiritual leader of the HUR Society, has called on protesters to end road blockades while celebrating the Council of Common Interest’s decision to cancel the new Canals project as a “victory for the conscious youth, children, elderly and women in Sindh.”

The people of Sindh protested for their rights in cities and villages and lasted extreme warm and severe weather without worry, and it was due to their unique fight that this victory became possible, Pir Pagara said in a statement on Monday night.

“From day one, my position has been that at a time when threats of war are weaving across our borders, the entire nation must stand with the Pakistani army,” he said, adding that the whole nation, along with the HUR community, is firm with the armed forces. “The nation has full confidence and confidence that the armed forces are able to defend every inch of the motherland.”

He said that if the Modi government commits any aggression, the Pakistani army with the help and support of the nation will provide an appropriate answer. Any kind of adventureism can be expected from Modi, who had previously worked as a servant and cleaner in a restaurant, ”he added.

Meanwhile, Sindh’s senior minister Sharjeel Inam Memon also greeted the CCI decision as a victory for the people of Pakistan. “This is not anyone’s defeat or victory; this is Pakistan’s victory,” Sharjeel said in a statement Monday.

“This is a triumph of supremacy of the constitution, national unity and the principles of justice,” he added. “Today, every Pakistani can keep our head high with pride because we have recognized each other’s rights and further strengthened our unity.”

The senior minister said that PPP has always strived for strengthening the federation, the province’s rights and people’s prosperity.
