Major League Baseball Suspended Dennis Santana four matches after swinging by a fan during a heated shift during Thursday night double head against the Detroit Tigers.
The Pittsburgh Pirates Auxiliary jugs were also fined with a non -public amount.

Santana, 29, refused to come into detail as he approached the situation with journalists after the game, but said that the fan involved had “crossed the line.

“You know me-I am a soothing type of person,” Santana said through an interpreter after the game. “I’ve never had any trouble for any of the teams I’ve been playing to. This guy crossed the line a few times.”
The incident played out during the seventh round of the second game near Visitors’s Bullpen. Santana was seen approaching the wall with a security guard or officer and pointed towards a fan.

That’s when the reliever jumped up and swung on the fan.

“He crossed the line and I would like to leave it by it. I’ve never had anything like happening in my eight years in baseball,” Santana added.
Santana will still appear for Pirates as his appeal of the suspension is reviewed by the league.
