Pirates fan ‘awake and attentive’ after crashing down the field in the fall

The 20-year-old man who fell over a wall and crashed onto the pitch of PNC Park in Pittsburgh is “awake and alert” according to a Gofundme side that raised money for his medical bills.

Kavan Markwood, a former college footballer, was identified as the man More than 20 meters fell on the right-felt warning track.

Gofundme was created earlier this week and its organizer delivered the positive update of Markwood.

“We are so relieved and grateful to share some encouraging news about Kavan. From this morning Kavan is awake, attentive and able to speak,” wrote Jennifer Phillips. “After everything he has been through since the accident on Wednesday night, this progress feels nothing short of miraculous.

“He still has a long way ahead, but today brought a moment of hope that we have all held on to. Thank you all so much for your prayers, support and generosity. Continue to keep him in your thoughts as he begins the next phase of improvement.”

Games stopped immediately when medical staff sprint to Outfield to find a shirtless Markwood moving on the warning track with blood visible on his face. Both teams’ teachers joined EMS to get him on a wagon and off the field.

Umpire curses on hot microphone after missing call

Pirates star Andrew McCutchen hit a two-run double to set the team up 4-3 at the bottom of the round as players from his team feverishly tried to warn Umpires and safety that the tab was on the warning track.

The game was a break for approx. 10 minutes when medical staff arrived. The fan was placed on a back plate, filled on a medical carriage and transported stadium to a hospital.

ONE Graphic video Sent on social media showed that the fan tumbled over the railing and fell about 20 meters to the ground. The TV broadcast showed the McCutchen, who stood on the second base with his hand over his head in apparent shock. Cubs players took a knee while the tab was examined

Markwood played for two Division II football programs, Walsh University and Wheeling University. He played at Wheeling in 2023 and performed in four games, according to the team’s side.

“Had really what happened tonight,” McCutchen wrote on social media. “Can’t help think about the guy his family and friends. I pray tonight for him. Let’s think of his dear and hug our families a little tighter tonight. I hope he pulls through. May God bless you all. Good night.”
