Mother Nature made her presence known during a minor league baseball match on Tuesday.

Norfolk Tides Tid’s train on Jacksonville Jumbo shrimp (Triple-A-affiliated companies by Baltimore Orioles and Miami Marlins respectively) on Tuesday in northeastern Florida as a thunderstorm rolled through the ballpark.

Then out of nowhere, a huge boom of thunder broke out in the middle of Contreras’ delivery.

The boom frightened contrreras (and lots of others) to the point where Contreras stopped died in his track. However, the home plate did not show any grace and called Contreras a balk that brought the runner in.

The driving cut the jumbo shrimp’s deficit to 2-1, and they would score a race in both the second and third laps to take a 3-2 lead.

This is hardly the first time a high boom has caused a bit of a disturbance in the game, but UMP followed the rulebook, and the start-and-stop was the means for the call.

However, Norfolk fell a little more thundered by their own and scored three races in both the fourth and the fifth to lead 8-3. They eventually took a 9-5 win home.

The tidal victory was quite upset when they were 34-49 who participated in the competition, mirroring the lack of success from their Big League club (O’s are 40-50 after doing the fall season in back-to-back seasons). The Jumbo shrimp is now 53-34 and show promise of Marlins.
