PM calls for unity in the light of terror again

President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif had called on the nation to create unity as the country struggled with the threat of terrorism and extremism and emphasized the need to support each other and contribute to Pakistan’s progress and prosperity.

The country’s top leadership congratulated the nation with the happy opportunity for Eidul Fitr being observed across the country on Monday (today) and urged the masses to continue the virtues of piety, patience and victims taught during Ramazan in their daily lives.

The prime minister warned that the country was facing threats from internal and external enemies as it waged the war against terrorists. He expressed solidarity with the martyrs. He also asked for the highest rows of the martyrs of the Jaffar Express tragedy.

“Today, Pakistan is facing threats from internal and external enemies. So we must avoid all kinds of extremism, hatred and sectarism and unite for the country’s integrity and stability. We must not succeed,” the prime minister said.

“Pakistan is undergoing a war against terrorists, and our army officers and soldiers sacrifice their lives to restore peace and order in this country. Today we ask for the highest rows of all these martyrs and express solidarity with their families,” he added.

“Today we also pray for the martyrs of the Jaffar Express tragedy, Allah has to raise their ranks. We share the grief over their survivors. We also had to remember our oppressed brothers who are victims of oppression and barbarity,” he emphasized.

Shehbaz recalled the nation that strengthening the economy, society and the national unity was the general responsibility for all, adding that the government made strenuous efforts for the country’s economic resuscitation, establishment of peace and social stability.

“We were going to unite and lead our country on the path of development and prosperity,” Prime Minister Shehbaz called the nation. “I appeal to the nation to share the joy of Eid with their weak and needy brothers, relatives and neighbors and play a role in creating a welfare society.”

The president declared that Eid came after blessings, worship and piety travel in the Holy Month Ramazan, adding that Eidul Fitr was a gift from Almighty Allah, “assigned us as a reward for fasting”.

Under Ramazan, the president said, they strived faithfully to reach the proximity to Allah, refine their characters and excel in deeds of goodness. “This holy month teaches us patience, perseverance, worship and compassion for the poor,” Zardari said.

“Now it is our responsibility to follow these lessons in our daily lives that were learned under Ramazan and to maintain the virtues of sincerity, honesty and love in our practical lives,” the president added.

He observed that the Eid day also taught them the lesson of unity and solidarity among their ranks and emphasized that the masses should strengthen these ties, support each other and contribute to Pakistan’s progress and prosperity.

In the apartment, the president also asked for the people of IIOJK to get freedom and the opportunity to celebrate Eid in peace. The president prayed to Almighty Allah to accept their regular and worship and guide Pakistan on the road of peace and prosperity.
