Islamabad:

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Thursday instructed the authorities concerned to provide a level-playing field for local industries and incorporate proposals from industrial and trade bodies into the upcoming federal budget.

The Prime Minister, chairman of a review meeting on the export facility scheme (EFS), said that increasing the country’s exports to increase national revenue was among the government’s priorities.

During the meeting, the preliminary recommendations from the committee were formed to make the scheme more efficient and benefit from the export sector.

The Prime Minister instructed further consultation with the relevant experts in the committee’s recommendations to improve the scheme to facilitate imports of raw materials and machines to export -oriented industries.

He ordered the committee to complete his preliminary recommendations after further consultations and submit the report soon.
