Islamabad:
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif repeated on Tuesday that the protection of Chinese citizens in Pakistan remains a highest priority for the government, emphasizing its importance in the context of the country’s economic future and bilateral cooperation with China.
Chairman of a high -level meeting on security arrangements for Chinese citizens said the prime minister that it was important to create a safe and business -friendly environment to maintain confidence in Chinese companies operating in Pakistan.
“Chinese companies’ confidence in the Pakistani economy is extremely important to our financial future,” he said.

He highlighted an ongoing effort to strengthen security for Chinese citizens across the country, including in the federal capital, with reference to safe urban projects as a key component of this strategy.
These surveillance and response systems, he said, were implemented nationwide in accordance with international standards.
“China is our friendly country, and our Chinese brothers’ security is our most important responsibility,” said Prime Minister Shehbaz, noting that the China-Pakistani economic corridor (CPEC) had entered his second phase, focused on collaboration on business-to-business, further increasing the importance of safe conditions for Chinese citizens.
Given this, the leading authorities approached to take special measures at all airports to facilitate the arrival and departure of Chinese citizens. He also called for the inclusion of secure city city standard surveillance systems in all upcoming housing projects.

During the briefing, the Minister of the Interior and senior officials updated the prime minister about security protocols in place, which emphasized that special events had been made nationwide in the light of potential security threats.
Chinese citizens are currently provided with security cards for travel, the meeting was informed. The federal and provincial governments are working in coordinating these measures, adding the briefing, and noting that secure urban projects were expanded across multiple urban centers.
The meeting attended the Minister of Interior Mohsin Naqvi, Minister of Information Attaullah Tarar, Prime Minister Talal Chaudhry, special assistant to Prime Minister Tariq Fatemi and other senior officials.
