Islamabad:
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif called the top management of gas companies to a late evening to undergo the supply situation after complaints about the strain of Sehr and IFTAR Times in the Holy Month Ramazan.
With regard to the public’s difficulties, Prime Minister Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC) and Sui Northern Pipelines Limited (SNGPL) directed to take immediate remedial measures to ensure uninterrupted gas supply for households under SEHI and ITAR.
“The Prime Minister held an emergency meeting late at night on this question,” said an official award. During the meeting, the CEOs and the top management of gas companies discussed the problems of gas supply under SEHR and Iftar in detail.
Following the prime minister’s instructions, SSGC immediately decided to increase the gas pressure by 10%. Gas tools assured that the gas supply would begin 30-45 minutes before Sehr and Iftar, with improved pressure in the affected areas.
After the meeting, the SSGC announced the creation of control rooms upside down and regional offices to monitor the gas distribution system. These control spaces undergo the supply situation daily and ensure that complaints about low pressure are resolved in emergencies.
Meanwhile, a SNGPL spokesman confirmed that immediate action had been taken on the prime minister’s instructions and assured that gas supply under Sehr and Iftar would be maintained at all costs. The spokesman also called on citizens to report complaints by calling 1199.
In the past, people in many parts of the country, including Karachi, complained of gas load under Sehr and Iftar. In response, Sindh Energy appealed Minister Syed Nasir Hussain Shah to the Prime Minister to order any load of electricity and gas under Ramazan.
