Islamabad: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has sought proposals from business for system reforms to improve public tax revenue, The news Reported Thursday.
In a meeting with presidents of various chambers of trading, the prime minister said that achieving economic stability was the first step and the journey of national development had begun.
During the meeting, Premier instructed all ministries and relevant secretaries to formulate a political action plan based on the proposals of the chambers of the trade after holding consultations with them.
PM Shehbaz also noted that everyone had to work together on the development of the economy, adding that solving issues in business was a highest priority and the government would fully support them.
He highlighted difficult economic conditions and said that Pakistani business continued industrial and commercial activities.
“The government takes any possible measure to facilitate business. Through the Federal Bureau of Revenue (FBR) digitization and other reforms cause business to be facilities. The faceless clearance system has significantly reduced container distances in ports,” quoted the prime minister as said.
Meanwhile, the delegations paid tribute to the government’s financial stability measures and expressed gratitude for their admission to the consultation process, PM Office Media Wing said in a press release.
The meeting participants said the government for the first time demonstrated seriousness by tackling business. Inclusion of business in the consultative process, especially in budget discussions, was a positive step that they were grateful to the prime minister, they said.
