Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has expressed satisfaction over the record increase in transfers in the financial year 2024-25 according to Radio Pakistan.

The statement comes when the State Bank of Pakistan on Wednesday reported that the workers’ transfers for the 2024-25 financial year reached a record height of $ 38.3 billion, marking an increase of $ 8 billion, or 26.6%, compared to the $ 30.3 billion received in the previous year.

Data revealed that Saudi Arabia ($ 823.2 million) and the United Arab Emirates ($ 717.2 million) were the largest contributors to transfer flow in June 2025, followed by the United Kingdom ($ 537.6 million) and the United States ($ 281.2 million).

According to the Prime Minister’s office, Sharif noted that overseas Pakistanis sent a total of $ 38.3 billion in transfers marking a highest time.

“This is $ 8 billion more than the transfers received in the financial year 2023-24,” was stated PM. He described the increase of 26.6% as a very encouraging development, emphasizing the importance of such a significant increase.

The prime minister attributed this performance to the valuable contributions of overseas Pakistanis, and emphasized that it is a clear reflection of their confidence in Pakistan’s economy.

Further comments on the country’s economic orbit, he pointed to the recent positive economic indicators and said they demonstrate the effectiveness of government policy and their adaptation to the right direction for economic progress.

He also repeated the government’s strong commitment to switching from economic stability to sustainable economic growth focusing on long -term progress.
