Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Saturday launched the RS20 billion Ramazan package for four million deserved families across the country, taking advantage of about 20 million people.
The prime minister said a total of four million deserved families consist of launching the ceremony and said a total of four million deserved families consisting of two crore people would get relief from this package, which would be distributed in the first ten days of the holy month.
Each family through digital wallets would get RS5,000, he said, expressing his satisfaction that the price increase had been reduced this year compared to the previous figures under Ramazan.
“This year an amount of RS20 billion is awarded for this purpose. The relief amount last year was RS7 billion,” he added.
The Prime Minister also paid tribute to all the relevant authorities and institutions, including ministries, State Bank of Pakistan, Nadra, Bisp and Tech companies that worked day and night to devise a digital mechanism. The initiative of the federal government would benefit all parts of the country through a well -developed digital system, he added.
He also expressed his gratitude to the foreign partners for their partnership and support in this noble case and appreciated their commitment and valuable contributions.
The Prime Minister said billions of rupees from the poor nation had been firmly in litigation for years and expressed the government’s decision to make quick decisions over RS500 billion cases pending the verdict in different courts. He said corruption was treated with iron hands.
During their previous preliminary government terms of office, the banks had given the profits over the swing of dollar rates and received residence orders from the court when the government introduced legislation in this regard.
With reference to a decision made by the recent Sindh High Court, he said RS23 billion was recovered from the disposal of a residence case.
The Prime Minister called Corruption in Utility Stores Corporation ‘Worst’ and said it was privatized, which ended public agonies with a very proactive digital system as it just launched.
He also repeated to close other government units that run in losses. The Prime Minister expressed his deep grief over a terrorist attack on Maulana Hamidul Haq at Madrassa Haqqania, where Maulana Haq had embraced martyrdom.
He said that Madrassa Haqqania was a famous center for Islamic studies, and yesterday’s terrorist incident was heartbreaking and very condemned.
The Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa government would immediately bring the perpetrators to book, he said, adding in the year 2018, terrorism was removed from the country, and in that fight about 80,000 Pakistanis had closed their lives, including security forces and jaws and all segments of society.
Unfortunately, he said Specter lifted his head lately and that everyone knew the reasons. With the unmatched victims of security forces and the nation’s support, they would eliminate terrorism forever and would not rest until its complete extinction, he added.
Minister of Industries and Production Rana Tanveer Hussain said in his remarks that the program was sanctioned in twenty days, with all the relevant authorities playing a significant role, enabling them to launch the initiative in the Holy Month.
He said that fool -proof mechanism would ensure a rapid transfer of amounts to 4 million deserved families across the country.
In addition, a total of 600 stalls at Tehsil level was created to provide sugar at subsidized price of RS130 kg.
