PM orders two weekly meetings about finance

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Friday, the relevant ministries and other authorities instructed to prepare within a week for two-weekly sector’s special meetings with business people to prepare concrete action plans to increase the national economy.

When he spoke with the delegation of prominent business people from all over the country in the Prime Minister House, Shehbaz announced that he would be chairman of the sector -specific two weekly meeting from next Thursday, which would be attended by relevant government officials and business people.

A four membership delegation from the business people would represent their respective sectors, while the government side would be led by the secretary of the relevant ministry, Shehbaz said. The meeting aims to keep focused interactions and make the necessary decisions, he added.

“The first such meeting will discuss the agricultural sector,” the prime minister said, adding that it was the government’s priority to target exports, employment, agriculture and other critical sectors to revive the fighting national economy.

The Prime Minister emphasized that investments were always led by local investors, and then followed directly foreign investment. “The government will only act as a catalyst to enable environmentalists to invest and attract global investors,” he said.

“It is business people who have to run the wheels of the economy, and the government is their facilitators,” he continued. “You invested all your capital in this country, even in difficult times for the country’s industrial and economic development. Thanks to your efforts,” he added.

“The country’s economy is moving and people have found employment. With your advice and useful opinions, the economy will continue its journey towards improvement and reforms in all sectors. The economy is moving in the right direction as interest rates and inflation have dropped significantly.”

At the meeting, participants expressed full confidence in the government’s business -friendly policies and paid tribute to the government for the establishment of the National Seed Development Authority to ensure the supply of quality seeds for the development of agriculture in the country.

Two sessions

Shehbaz, who spoke with Chinese Ambassador Jiang Zaidong, conveyed his warm greetings and good wishes to China’s President Xi Jinping and Premier Li Qiang about the successful call of the National People’s Congress and the Chinese People’s Political Consultation Conference in Beijing.

During the meeting, Prime Minister Shehbaz expressed his satisfaction over the positive course of bilateral strategic connections and thanked China for his long -standing and steadfast support to Pakistan about all its core problems.

He also confirmed Pakistan’s consistent and unclear support to China about its core problems and said that the management and people of both countries remained certainly in their joint decision to further strengthen their “all weather strategic cooperative partnership” and raise it to new heights.

Progress with security and terrorist fighting between both countries was also discussed.
