When he returned from Saudi Arabia, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif was Saturday with chairman of a meeting on the performance of the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR).
He appreciated ministers and officers at the recent recovery of RS34.5 billion of FBR. He particularly famous Minister of Law and Justice Azam Nazer Tarar, Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb, Minister of Economic Affairs Ahad Khan Cheema, Minister of Information and broadcasts Attaullah Tarar, adviser to Prime Minister Syed Tauqir Shah, Law Attorney Mansoor Awan, Secretary Finance IMDAD ULLAH BOSAL Secretary Information Ambreen Jan, President FBR Arshad Mehad Mehmme Langrial, Director -General of Intelligence Agency Fawad Asadullah Khan, Director General Fia Jan Muhammad and officers affected by the steps taken for this historic improvement.
He said he and the whole nation were grateful to them for gaining the benefits of RS34.5 billion for national tax.
Restoring the amount within 24 hours of the decision being commendable, he said that adding these best results shows that if there was hard work and dedication, success was achievable.
He said it was a historical performance that was only made possible because of a hard -working team.
Recovering RS34.5 billion was a good start and this was just the start of the journey, he added.
“We have to form a sustainable system permanently,” he said, adding, “we have to solve decades of problems by working together.”
While valuing the President FBR, he said that a comprehensive legal structure should be formed for the recovery of FBR permanently.
He instructed a plan to be presented to ensure reforms of FBR and the implementation of tax law.
The Prime Minister said a plan should also be prepared for improving labor by FBR.
The system could be improved by 100 percent digitization, third -party validation and continuous monitoring, he said.
He said that full action should be initiated against the officers and staff involved in any kind of abuse.
Encouragement of officers and staff who were priesting to be secured, he continued.
He said, “If we have to change the fate of Pakistan, we need to bring changes to the system permanently.”
“We will make all efforts to save every penny of the people,” he noted.
During the meeting, the Prime Minister was informed of the pending cases in courts regarding taxes and the steps that the government team has taken to recover money through these cases.
Chairman FBR informed the Prime Minister of the Reforms of FBRS Directorate of Law, a digital algorithm for tax assessment, performance of tax manager and FBRS collected reforms.
