The mother of Pakistan’s head of Army Personnel (Coas), General Syed Asim Munir, died and got a wave of compassion from the country’s top management.
President Asif Ali Zardari expressed deep grief over the loss and said, “We share the grief of General Syed Asim Munir over his mother’s passing. My inner compassion goes out to the deprived family of this difficult time.” He also asked for the departed soul and for the strength of the family to carry the loss.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, in a statement from the PM office, expanded his “inner condolences” and expressed solidarity with General Munir and his family. “May Allah Almighty bless the departed soul with eternal peace,” he added.
Speaking of the National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq described the loss as “irreplaceable” who called parents an invaluable gift. “Losing them is a great grief,” he said, confirming his support to the army chief in this difficult time.
Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi also expanded his sympathy and offered prayers for the height of the deceased’s rank below.
Engineer Amir Muqam, Federal Minister of Kashmir affairs, Gilgit-Baltistan and the Ministry of States and Border Areas (Safron), referred to the loss as “irreparable.” He prayed for the deceased mother’s place in Jannat-Ul-Firm and for patience for the grieving family.
Punjab Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif expressed grief over death and offered compassion for the surviving family and said the loss of a parent is deeply painful.
Sindh -Governor Kamran Khan Tessori also expanded compassion and said, “In this sorrow time we stand with General Syed Asim Munir and his family.” He asked for strength and peace for the family.
