PM promises to tackle artificial sugar deficiency, secure fair pricing

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has instructed authorities to take strict action against sugar washing and those responsible for artificial inflation of prices, according to Associated Press of Pakistan (App).

When we spoke at a review meeting on Friday, the prime minister expressed concern about rising sugar prices and emphasized the government’s obligation to secure reasonable prices.

PM Shehbaz stated that the government would not tolerate speculation or hamstring that artificially increases the cost of sugar. He ordered an extensive crash on profits and hamsters with a report on the action to be presented after surgery.

The Prime Minister also instructed officials to closely monitor supply and demand for sugar and emphasize that there is a sufficient amount of the product available in the country. He further instructed the authorities to strengthen their communication with Sugar Mills to ensure proper supervision.

PM Shehbaz, who addressed the question in the Holy Month Ramadan, said the government would not allow any exploitation of the public. He urged chief secretaries from all four provinces to ensure that sugar is delivered to the people at fixed, state -approved prices.
