PM requires the return of Pakistani citizens

Islamabad:

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Thursday and appreciated the “worthy” participation of Pakistani nationals in Sumud Gaza Flotilla, demanded their return when they were captured on their way to Gaza to provide humanitarian aid.

The Prime Minister appreciated in a post on X the Pakistani citizens, including Mushtaq Ahmed Khan, Mazhar Saeed Shah, Wajahat Ahmed, Dr. Osama Riaz, Ismail Khan, Syed Aziz Nizami and Fahad Ishtiaq, including Pakistanis who participated in this great human mission in accordance with the principles of human co -opportunity.

“This initiative represents the peace -loving hopes of the Pakistani people, their struggle for justice and their spirit to help the distressed,” he noted.

He said that the government of Pakistan supported the principles of respect for human life, safe access and uninterrupted humanitarian help.

“Pakistan’s government … requires a strong return of its citizens as they pray and strive for their security, dignity and rapid return to the home country,” he added.

Earlier in another post on X, Prime Minister Shehbaz strongly condemned the eerie attack by Israeli forces on Sumud Gaza Flotilla and transported over 450 humanitarian workers from 44 countries on a mission to take humanitarian help to Gaza.

“This barbarity must end. Peace must be given a chance and humanitarian help must reach the distressed,” he wrote.

He expressed hope and asked for the security of all those who have been arrested illegally by Israeli forces and called for their immediate release.

“Their crime was to bear help to the unhappy Palestinian people,” the prime minister remarked.

Foreign Office

Pakistan has unequivocally condemned Israel’s interception of the global Sumud flotilla, an important humanitarian mission that constitutes global solidarity and moral determination.

In a statement on Thursday, spokesman for the Foreign Office said: “The Israeli acts constitute a serious violation of international law.”

He said, “On September 16, 2025, Pakistan, along with 15 nations, issued a joint statement expressing concern for the safety of flotilla.”

“The safety and well -being of Pakistani citizens aboard the flotilla is of the utmost importance,” he said, adding, “as Pakistan does not recognize Israel, we work closely with international partners in the region to secure their immediate release and ensure their security.”

He said Pakistan continued to coordinate with the Allied nations to protect his citizens and confirm his commitment to their rapid and secure return.

President Asif Ali Zardari on Thursday strongly condemned Israeli aggression against Sumud Gaza Flotilla.

In a statement, the president paid tribute to the bravery and humanitarianism of Pakistani citizens on the flotilla.

He said the attack on the aid emission was a serious violation of human rights and international laws.

He called on the international community to ensure uninterrupted supply of help to the citizens of Gaza.

He expressed the best wishes for the security and immediate return of Pakistanis who were present on the flotilla.

He said Pakistan will always stand with the oppressed Palestinian people.
