Islamabad:
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Tuesday asked the relevant authorities to present a comprehensive action plan to increase agricultural production and introduce agricultural reforms in the country.
He was chairman of a review meeting on the performance of the agricultural sector and ongoing reforms.
“Improving agricultural productivity, value added and increased exports of agricultural products are the top priorities of the government,” the prime minister said.
He instructed a comprehensive short- and long-term action plan for modern agricultural machinery, quality seeds, geographical planning of crops and the delivery of light loans to farmers.
To improve the crop yield, the Prime Minister ordered the prime minister that agricultural centers were made more efficient.
He also instructed that modern research is ensured through public-private partnerships in agricultural research centers.
The Prime Minister emphasized that the government should benefit from internationally recognized experts for the effective use of artificial intelligence and modern agriculture technology.
During the briefing, the meeting was told about the production of Major Rabi and Kharif crops from the previous year, challenges facing farmers, the proposed future roadmap and suggestions for improvements.
The meeting was also informed of the progress of the implementation of government reforms and the impact of climate change in agriculture.
Industrialists and business leaders
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Tuesday held a high -level meeting with top industrialists and business leaders from the key sectors of the economy, confirming its government’s obligation to financial stability, export -led growth and the relief of the private sector.
During the interactive session, business leaders paid tribute to the Prime Minister’s leadership and his financial team’s sustained efforts to stabilize the country’s financial prospects, says a Prime Minister’s office news announcement.
In particular, they praised the government for successfully completing a critical IMF agreement and the introduction of a pro-business budget aimed at doing business.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif welcomed the participants and emphasized the importance of partnership. “The credit for financial stabilization goes to our team’s tireless efforts,” he said, adding, “Our next goal is to control Pakistan towards sustained growth, improve exports, create jobs and attract foreign investment.”
He emphasized that future development would be driven by domestic resource mobilization, reducing addiction and making Pakistan financially self -reliant. “The proposals from business are important for shaping policies that serve the national interest,” he noted.
The Prime Minister announced that he would hold monthly meetings with business to ensure regular consultation and collective ownership of financial reforms. “We will consult experts in the private sector across any domain. This long journey with progress requires mutual effort and determination,” he said.
The industrialists recognized the government’s budget as business -friendly and adapted to the needs of the industry. They appreciated continuous reforms in taxation and customs clearance systems, especially improvements in FBR’s digitization and transparency in gates.
They also emphasized the need for improved relief for exporters and investors as well as political adaptation to the needs of companies and industries to increase foreign direct investments.
