Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Saturday dealt with the nation on Saturday after the announcement of a ceasefire agreement between Pakistan and India, who expressed deep gratitude to the people of Pakistan, the armed forces, political leaders and international partners who supported the efforts to shield tension.
In a television address, the Prime Minister confirmed that Pakistan had responded positively to the ceasefire proposal “for 230 million Pakistanis,” After weeks of military escalation after the April 22 -attack in Pahaldam, Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK), who left 26 deaths. India accused Pakistan-based elements, a claim categorically rejected by Islamabad.
Prime Minister Shehbaz expressed appreciation of the role of the United States in the mediation of the ceasefire, personally thanks to President Donald Trump “for playing a sincere and constructive role.” He also acknowledged contributions from Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Türkiye, Kuwait, the United Kingdom, the United Nations Secretary-General and “other Allied Countries” involved in the diplomatic effort.
“My brother Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, my brother Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed, my dear brother Emir from Qatar Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad, and my lovely brother president Recep Tayyip Erdoğan – everyone offered us strength and confidence in a difficult hour.
He mentioned especially to China’s support and thanked President Xi Jinping, his government and the Chinese people. “China has been standing at Pakistan with no concern for loss or gain. They have been our true friends for 78 years and we will always remember this support,” he added.
The Prime Minister paid tribute to the armed forces and greeted the mothers to martyred soldiers and said, “Their victims will never be forgotten.” He also expanded thanks to political allies and opposition parties for standing together, including the party’s chief Nawaz Sharif and President Asif Ali Zardari, whose advice, he noted, had been “priceless.”
He acknowledged the role of Pakistani citizens, especially users of social media, in order to discourage incorrect information and maintenance of national device online. “Our people stuck in the light of disinformation. I thank every user who became a digital soldier for the truth.”
Looking ahead, the leading confidence in the National Resole expressed: “I am sure that our political parties and civilian-military leadership will continue to work for Pakistan’s sake. We will not rest until we have regained our rightful place in the world.”
He called for unity, hard work and renewed national ambition. “Let’s work so hard that the world is amazed – just as they are now in the courage of our armed forces.”
