Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif on Tuesday announced to construct Daanish University of Applied and Emerging Sciences in Islamabad using amounts of 190 million pounds transferred from the United Kingdom’s National Crime Agency (NCA) to the Supreme Court Pakistan’s report.

The Prime Minister, while he was chairman of the management committee meeting for the establishment of Daanish University of Applied and Emerging Sciences, expressed his gratitude to Pakistan’s Chief Justice to secure a smooth transfer of the 190 million pounds to the federal government account.

The United Kingdom’s National Crime Agency (NCA) had returned 190 million pounds to Pakistan, which has been transferred from the Supreme Court to the federal government’s account. According to the vision of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, this amount will be used to build an advanced from Art Daanish University.

When we talked to the occasion, the Prime Minister emphasized that Daanish University would be an institution where deserving and talented students will receive high quality research -based education.

He instructed the early end of legal formalities to acquire land in Islamabad for the university.

The Prime Minister also instructed the rapid completion of the university’s charter and other legal issues. Furthermore, he emphasized that Daanish University should be developed as an international technical and used university of science.

He also instructed that the university’s architecture should reflect the simplicity, with buildings constructed using red bricks and avoid unnecessary expenses for minimizing costs.

He also instructed to recruit highly qualified faculties and teachers to the university, which would be equipped with advanced technology and advanced research facilities.

PM Shehbaz said the university’s curriculum should be prepared in accordance with the international standards. He further approached to form a committee to appoint the principal and a committee for nomination of the board.

During the meeting, a briefing was given at Daanish University and Daanish Schools, and it was emphasized that the Prime Minister would be the patron of Daanish University, which will be registered as a section 42 company, with all necessary formalities to be completed within a few days.

The university’s land is chosen in sector H-16. Daanish University will operate under the skewed confidence to ensure financial independence and minimal government intervention.

In addition, it was announced that Daanish schools would soon be created in Shigar, Gilgit and Bagh as well as in Neelum Valley (AJK) and underprivileged areas of Karachi.
