Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Chief of Army Staff (Coas) Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir on Sunday turned together in a grand Jirga of tribe Elder at Zehri Auditorium in Quetta, confirming the government’s regular decision to eradicate terrorism and toned Indian-sponsored Proxy warfare in Balochistan.
According to a statement from the Prime Minister’s office, Jirga was called to strengthen the commitment with the stem’s leadership and to tackle the evolving security situation in the province. The declaration noted that the primary focus was on counteracting the destabilizing role of Indian clerks and reinforcing development efforts led by the state.
PM’s office stated that Premier Sharif highlighted how terrorist groups that were supported and funded by India have intensified the efforts to undermine peace and stability in Balochistan. He specifically mentioned units such as “Fitna Al-Hindustan” and warned that these groups are trying to exploit local complaints and get social support that must be denied.
The offer of the Prime Minister reads the statement: “The enemies of peace will not find space to operate in Pakistan. Our message to them is clear: the government, armed forces, law enforcement and administrative apparatus, with the full support of the people, will take the nation’s fight against terrorism to its logical conclusion – to occupy terrorism in a crucial way.”
PM’s office also stated that Sharif praised the constructive role of the oldest of the tribe in preserving the national unit and emphasizing the need for sustained grassroots commitment to ensure that terrorist groups remain isolated and not supported. He further emphasized that development initiatives must reach the local population to really strengthen Balochistan.
The statement quoted the prime minister as saying: “We must ensure that the run-down effects of government development packages are beneficial to any citizen. The Balochistan population has played a historical role in protecting Pakistan’s integrity, and we count on their continued vigilance against foreign-supported undermining.”
During the interaction, Field Marshal Munir also approached the collection. He said, “This Indian sponsored proxy war is no longer hidden-it is an open and malicious act of terror that is brought against our people, our progress and our peace.”
He emphasized that the Pakistani army has concrete evidence of Indian commitment to orchestration and support from terrorist networks in Balochistan, maintained the statement.
“The Pakistani Army, with the unwavering support of the nation and the brave Baloch people, will confront and crush any enemy, foreign or domestic who dares to challenge our sovereignty,” Coas said, according to the statement. He reiterated that peace in Balochistan is “non-marketable” and that the future of Pakistan is inherently bound to the province’s stability and prosperity.
PM’s office also reported that both leaders paid tribute to the courage and resilience of security personnel and law enforcement authorities operating in Balochistan. PM Sharif assured the families of martyrs from the state’s full support and promised that those responsible for terrorism – including their facilitators and stomachs – would be brought to court.
Jirga ended with a unanimous promise from the oldest of the tribe to stand shoulder to shoulder with the government and the armed forces, confirming their commitment to peace, security and development in Balochistan, added the statement.
Earlier in the day, Prime Minister Shehbaz visited the command and Staff College Quetta, where he approached students and faculty members. According to an official release, the visit emphasized the government’s obligation to increase professionalism and strategic emergency preparedness for Pakistan’s defense institutions.
He emphasized the need for operational expertise and strategic foresight in light of developing hybrid threats, especially in sensitive regions such as Balochistan, where Indian sponsored proxies try to destabilize the country and prevent national development.
