Islamabad:
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif urged Turkish companies to increase their investment imprints in Pakistan and share their expertise in the country’s structural reforms, economic growth and development.
He made the comments at a meeting with Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan and Defense Minister Yasar Güler, who urged him in Islamabad on Wednesday.
In an official release, the Prime Minister emphasized the need for coordinated efforts from both countries to improve the bilateral trade in the purpose of achieving the mutually agreed target of $ 5 billion. He confirmed Pakistan’s obligation to further strengthen cooperation with Turkey in key sectors, including trade, investment, technology and defense.
Sharif also emphasized the long -standing brotherly bond between Pakistan and Turkiye, which is deeply rooted in shared history, culture and mutual respect. He expressed satisfaction over the positive course for bilateral connections and emphasized that both nations have made significant progress in recent years.

When he remembered his interaction with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, Prime Minister Pakistan’s decision to transform Pak-Turkiye Relations confirmed into a strategic partnership in the near future.
Sharif welcomed the upcoming meeting of the joint commission, co -chair of Vice Prime Minister Ishaq Dar and the Turkish FM Fidan, and expressed hope that the meeting would further accelerate the bilateral connections and promote cooperation in different areas.
While repetition of strong support both countries continues to offer each other, the prime minister highlighted the need for closer coordination, especially in light of the rapidly developing regional and global situation, with a particular focus on the ongoing crises in Gaza and Iran.
Finally, he once again expressed his deepest gratitude to the Turkish nation and leadership of their steadfast support to Pakistan, especially under the recent tensions with India.

Earlier, during a joint press conference, DAR and FIDAN confirmed their commitment to elaborate on bilateral cooperation across key sectors, including defense, trade, energy, culture, education and infrastructure, with both countries aiming to increase bilateral trade to $ 5 billion.
During the press conference, both officials expressed satisfaction with the ongoing progress in 12 joint standing committees under the Strategic Cooperation Council at a high level (HLSCC). DAR emphasized that after HLSCC’s February session, it would soon be set up to monitor the progress of these committees.
