Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif praised Sunday Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) and Intelligence Agency (IB) to dismantle a large human trafficking network and arrest its main suspect, Usman Jajja.
During a television meeting with the agency’s officials, ministers and the domestic secretary, the Prime Minister expressed hope that such operations would help eradicate human smuggling from Pakistan.
“The black business in human trafficking has damaged Pakistan’s reputation, and many citizens have lost their lives in tragic boat events near Italy and Morocco,” said Prime Minister Shehbaz.
The Prime Minister awarded appreciation screens and financial incentives to officials who played a key role in the crash. He called on the law enforcement authorities to intensify the efforts to restrict network trading and maintain Pakistan’s image globally.
The FIA and IB informed the Prime Minister about the arrest of human traffickers and their facilitators and outlined steps taken to prevent illegal migration.
Authorities have intensified operations against smuggling networks following international control of Pakistan’s role in human trafficking routes.
