In a significant step towards the modernization of Pakistan’s justice system, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif the case task and the management system launched on Friday. This initiative aims to provide transparent, effective and rapid justice of litigation across the country, Radio Pakistan reported.
PM, which was tackling the launch event in Islamabad on Friday, emphasized that the system was long too late as citizens had called for more transparent and faster legal processes.
He expressed confidence that the new system would go a long way in tackling the public’s complaints and ensuring that justice is delivered in a timely manner.
PM Shehbaz highlighted the enormous waste of resources over the years due to corruption, collaboration and lack of modern technological solutions within the justice system.
He emphasized the need for collective efforts to transform Pakistan and recover the losses held in the past, which would eventually lead to future benefits for the country.
With reference to his recent meeting with the Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Yahya Afridi, the Prime Minister mentioned his request for quick, credit -based decisions in pending cases.
Earlier this week, the Prime Minister had visited CJP Afridi’s residence to discuss the agenda of the upcoming National Judicial Policymaking Committee (NJPMC) meeting.
In his speech, Prime Minister Shehbaz also committed to recovering every penny caused by Pakistan and ensured that it would be used to improve the nation’s people.
He thanked all stakeholders, including international partners such as the United Nations (UN) and Canada, for their support to design and provide financial assistance to the development of the case task and the management system.
Troels Vester, the country’s representative of the United Nations Office of Drugs and Crime (UNODC), also spoke at the ceremony and expressed full support to the Pakistani government and the Ministry of Law and Justice by introducing modern technology to improve governance. He praised the leadership of Prime Minister Shehbaz for heading for reforms aimed at modernizing Pakistan’s legal system.
