Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Friday paid tribute to the federal budget for the financial year 2025-26 as one that reflects people’s needs.
During a meeting with senators and members of the National Assembly one day after the lower house adopted an RS17.6 trillion federal budget, he appreciated the financial team for hard work to create a budget representing the ambitions of the Pakistani people and thanked the Allied parties to shape the same.
On Thursday, the National Assembly approved RS17.6 trillion worth the budget together with RS463 billion new taxes, which brought the digital economy on the occasion of tax law, but almost canceled the largest enforcement measure to ban economic transactions from unjustified persons. The budget was adopted by a pleasant majority.

The Prime Minister emphasized the importance of unity moving forward to Pakistan’s economic growth.
He urged all stakeholders to work tirelessly together for the country’s progress and said, “I am convinced that this exemplary unit will secure the economic growth of Pakistan.”
Shehbaz also emphasized Pakistan’s recent victory over India in the light of unjustified aggression and praised the combined efforts of the armed forces, political leadership, the public, civil society and the media in defeating the enemy’s dishonest intentions.

PM noted that this victory has increased Pakistan’s global status.
In addition, he praised the diplomatic efforts led by Pakistan People’s Party President Bilawal Bhutto Zardari to present Pakistan’s clear attitude and expose India’s aggressive plans to the international community.
The delegation, led by Bilawal, was warmly received internationally, and overseas Pakistanis also paid tribute to the government and armed forces for their diplomatic and military success, according to Shehbaz.
When he moved into the recently culminated Israeli Iranian war, Shehbaz repeated Pakistan’s full solidarity with Iran and the Iranian people.
He added that Pakistan had maintained complete communication with Iranian leadership, especially with President Dr. Masoud Pezeshkian, during the conflict.
The Prime Minister expressed hope that the Israeli Iranian-Tig would open doors for peace and prosperity in the region.
The meeting attended the chairman of the Senate, members of the federal cabinet and members of the National Assembly.
