Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and President of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) Sheikh Mohamed bin zayed al Nahyan held discussions on Tuesday to explore ways to improve bilateral ties and promote mutual interests.
The meeting, held in Qasr Al Shati in Abu Dhabi, was attended by the planer Syed Asim Munir. Leaders focused on deepening cooperation across economic, trade and development sectors, areas that are in line with both nations’ vision of sustainable growth and prosperity.
Discussions also provided an opportunity to highlight the importance of the Summit in the world government in the design of global governance trends. The summit offers action strategies to help governments better prepare for global transformations and accelerate development.
Both sides exchanged views on regional and international issues, especially the development of the Middle East, emphasized the importance of collaboration efforts to ensure long -term peace and stability in the region.
PM Shehbaz also held a number of high-level meetings with leaders from Sri Lanka, Bosnia-Herzegovina and Kuwait to discuss improving bilateral relations in a number of sectors, including trade, defense and regional cooperation.
PM met Sri Lanka President Anura Kumara Dissanayake on the sidelines of the world government’s summit in Dubai and marked their first personal interaction.
The leaders discussed the strengthening of ties in trade, defense and education and agreed to explore new opportunities for collaboration. They also highlighted historical relations between the two nations, where Dissanayake remembers the 1996 Cricket World Cup final in Lahore.
“We are obliged to increase the exchanges at a high level and build on goodwill between our countries,” said Prime Minister Shehbaz.
In addition, the Prime Minister met with Željka Cvijanovic, chairman of Bosnia -Herzegovina Presidency to discuss the improvement of trade and financial ties.
PM Shehbaz expressed support for Bosnia -Herzegovina’s EU membership and its potential as a regional hub and offers new opportunities for Pakistani goods in the Balkans and Eastern Europe.
“I look forward to further promoting relations between our countries, especially in trade and investment,” Cvijanovic noted.
The Prime Minister also met Kuwaiti Prime Minister Sheikh Ahmad Abdullah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah to discuss the expansion of bilateral cooperation. The two leaders confirmed their commitment to a strong financial partnership and underwent regional issues, including the ongoing situation in Gaza.
“The Gaza adult garden must be fully implemented immediately, and humanitarian assistance to the people of Palestine must be accelerated,” they agreed.
The meetings emphasized Pakistan’s ongoing efforts to improve its diplomatic and economic relations with the most important global and regional players aimed at sustainable development and peace.
