PM Shehbaz participates in ‘SCO heads of the State Summit’ in China

Islamabad: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif will visit China from August 30 to September 4 to participate in the 25th Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Council of Heads of State Summit in Tianjin.

According to a statement from the Foreign Office, the Prime Minister is holding with Chinese President Xi Jinping and Premier Li Qiang to discuss various aspects of bilateral cooperation.

He will also participate in a military parade in Beijing, reminded of the 80th anniversary of the Anti-Fascist War of the World with President XI and other world leaders.

The Prime Minister is further planned to interact with leading Chinese business people and leaders to improve trade, investment and financial ties and address Pakistan-China B2B investment conference in Beijing.

The Foreign Office said the visit is part of the high -level exchanges aimed at elaborating on the “all weather strategic cooperative partnership”, promotes the second phase of CPEC and maintains regular communication on important regional and global issues.

The Three-Day Important 25. Meeting with the heads of the SCO states is scheduled for August 31, August 1st and 2nd of September.

This year’s summit will be the biggest since SCO was founded in 2001, a Chinese official in the Chinese Foreign Ministry said last week and called the block an “important strength in building a new type of international relations”.

Among the participants at the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) summit, which will take place in the northern port city of Tianjin from August 31 to September 1, will be Russian President Vladimir Putin, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, together with Central Asia leaders, the Middle East, South Asia and Southeast Asia.

The theme of this year’s meeting will be: “To maintain the Shanghai spirit: SCO on the go.” The annual event is likely to focus on key discussions on regional security, financial cooperation, trade and SCO’s long -term strategic direction and way forward.

The security-focused block, which began as a group of six Eurasian nations, has been expanded to 10 permanent members and 16 dialogue and observer countries in recent years. Its transfer has also been expanded from security and terrorism to economic and military cooperation.
