PM Shehbaz promises to defend Pakistan’s sovereignty

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Thursday promised to defend Pakistan’s sovereignty and territorial integrity against any future aggression, in the midst of rising tensions caused by the recent provocative comments of Indian leaders.

In a telephone call with the Azerbaijanian President Ilham Aliyev confirmed the Prime Minister Pakistan’s obligation to the ceasefire agreement with India and emphasized that it was agreed in regional peace.

Shehbaz described Kashmir -Tvisten as the central cause of instability in South Asia and reiterated that its decision in accordance with the UN Security Council’s decisions was important for lasting peace. He thanked President Aliyev for Azerbaijan’s continued and principle support for the Kashmir case.

The Prime Minister expressed gratitude for Azerbaijan’s solidarity during the recent regional crisis and described Gestus as a sign of sustained friendship and fraternity between the two nations.

Shehbaz highlighted Pakistan-Azerbaijan connections and called the bilateral ties “Tested and Special” and said Pakistan was obliged to upgrade them to a robust financial partnership. He noticed continuous efforts to complete Azerbaijanic investments worth $ 2 billion in different sectors of Pakistan’s economy.

He also expanded an invitation to President Aliyev to visit Pakistan, which the Azerbaijani leader accepted warmly.

President Aliyev congratulated Pakistan with the recent diplomatic successes and welcomed the ceasefire initiative. He confirmed Azerbaijan’s decision to strengthen cooperation with Pakistan across political and economic fronts.
