Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said Friday that it was his government’s biggest priority on Friday that it was his government’s greatest priority to give relief to the ordinary man in the upcoming budget.

The Prime Minister was chairman of a meeting on the preparation of the federal budget 2025-26 and said that all resources will be used to reduce the poor and middle-class financial difficulties.

The premiere instructed the upcoming budget to be prepared with a focus on sustainable export -driven growth and provide proper consideration for projects to promote industries and increase production.

The budget should also focus extensively on the creation of jobs, agriculture, information technology, small and medium -sized businesses and the housing sector, he added.

The premiere said the government and the private sector must work together on national development and prosperity.

PM Shehbaz, who called the public-private partnerships and youth vocational education among the government’s priorities, noted that positive results emerged from the government’s reforms of the electricity sector as the reduction in electricity prices for industries would help promote industry and production.

He also said that automation and digitization were promoted to bring transparency into the government system and facilitate business and investors.

He said the government would continue the process of rightsization to reduce the size of the federal government in the next financial year.

During the briefing, the participants were informed that consultations with the private sector on budget preparation had been underway for the past three months, in addition to consulting sessions with stakeholders from different sectors.

The meeting was also informed that the five-year trading policy framework for 2025-30 and e-commerce 2.0 frame would soon be completed and a plan for customization was also prepared.

The delegation of business people and experts expressed confidence in the government’s economic policies and presented their proposals, which the prime minister greeted and instructed the involvement of feasible proposals in the budget.
