Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif arrived in Jeddah on Wednesday for a four-day visit to Saudi Arabia, aiming to elaborate on bilateral trade and strengthen economic cooperation.

According to a statement from the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO), Sharif was welcomed by Prince Saud Bin Mishaal Bin Abdulaziz, Deputy Governor of Makkah, upon his arrival.

During his visit, Sharif is set to meet with Saudi Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed Bin Salman to discuss strategies to strengthen trade, promote partnerships in key sectors and expand overall economic cooperation.

The visit follows the signing of the 34 Memorandums of Understanding (Mous) to a value of $ 2.8 billion last October, with the aim of strengthening cooperation in the private sector and commercial ties between the two nations.

These agreements emphasize Pakistan’s efforts to strengthen the relationship between business-to-business with Saudi Arabia, an important trading partner and economically ally.

The two countries have long maintained a strong defense, diplomatic and cultural ties that have grown even more significant as Pakistan has navigated an economic crisis and sought support from the Kingdom.

The discussions between Sharif and Prince Mohammed will also cover regional questions, including the situation in Gaza, the changing dynamics of the Middle East and broader concerns about the Muslim world.

Saudi -Arabia’s Vision 2030 Economic Reforms that prioritize diversification and foreign investment provide significant opportunities for Pakistani companies, especially considering the kingdom’s strong consumer demand.

Pakistan’s significant diaspora in Saudi Arabia, which number about 2.7 million, also plays a crucial role in the country’s economy and sends transfers that are an important economic lifeline.

Prime Minister Sharif’s Delegation includes Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, Punjab Minister Maryam Nawaz and other important federal ministers and officials.

They are expected to engage in their Saudi colleagues to explore new investment opportunities and opportunities to improve financial cooperation.

PMO emphasized that the visit emphasizes the deep historical ties between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia, and it is expected to further strengthen diplomatic relations, improve trade and facilitate greater investment cooperation.
