PM Shehbaz Sharif departs to Belarus at two-day official visit

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Thursday traveled to a two-day official visit to Belarus on invitation from President Aleksandr Lukashenko.

During the visit, Sharif will give high -level lectures with Lukashenko to review the bilateral cooperation and explore new opportunities for commitment between the two countries.

Officials say the visit is expected to result in the signing of several agreements aimed at increasing trade, investment and diplomatic ties.

The tour follows a number of recent high -level exchanges, including the 8th session of the Joint Ministerial Commission held in February, which set the stage for deeper cooperation.

Sharif is accompanied by Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, Minister of Information Attaullah Tarar, special assistant to PM Tariq Fatemi and other senior officials.

The Prime Minister’s visit comes less than six months after President Lukashenko’s official trip to Islamabad last November.
