PM Shehbaz Sharif Inaugurated Jinnah Square Murree Road Downfall

Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif on Friday inaugurated the newly built Jinnah Square Murree Road Downfall, a project completed in 35 days.

The downfall spans approx. 479 meters and contains three traffic lanes, is part of a wider initiative to create a signal -free corridor from Islamabad Airport to Murree, which is aimed at relieving traffic jams and reducing travel time for commuters.

During the inauguration ceremony, Prime Minister Sharif Interior Minister Senator Syed Mohsin Raza Naqvi and his team, including Capital Development Authority (CDA) Syed Mohsin and IG Islamabad Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, for their efforts to implement the project quickly. He described the initiative as nationally advantageous and ensured a smooth connection to the scenic tourist destination MURREE.

“It has been because of the unity and harmony of the nation and the blessings of the Almighty Allah. In addition, the nation’s deserving history will be remembered by the enemy forever,” said the prime minister.

Apart from the downfall, the project includes a road network and landscape architecture.

PM Sharif noted that the nearly 9 kilometer long connection route would not only benefit the residents of Rawalpindi and Islamabad, but also the entire nation through its improved connection against Murree.

Formerly Interior Minister Naqvi Prime Minister Sharif about the project’s progress and future plans, including the design work for the Shaheen Chowk review and upcoming tourist projects such as a Safari park and chair lift in the Murree region.

The event was attended by federal ministers Hanif Abbasi, Dr. Tariq Fazl Chaudhary, Ministers of the State of Talal Chaudhary and Talha Burki and other parliamentarians.

In addition, chief minister Maryam Nawaz also inaugurated Nawaz Sharif -Flyover in Sargodha. Provincial Minister Sohaib Ahmed Bharth informed her that the project was completed in eight months at a price of RS2.2 billion. More than 30,000 vehicles are expected to use the 1.3 km long flight daily.

People traveling to Sargodha from Khushab, Mianwali and Bhakkar will benefit from the project.
