PM Shehbaz visiting China to SCO summit today

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif is scheduled to travel to China to join the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Council of Heads of State Summit held in Tianjin on Saturday.

During his visit from August 30 to September 4, the prime minister will hold high-level with Chinese President Xi Jinping and Premier Li Qiang to discuss the multifaceted dimensions of bilateral cooperation on Pakistan China.

Negotiations will focus on strengthening economic, political and strategic ties between the two countries. As part of the visit, Prime Minister Shehbaz participates a magnificent military parade in Beijing with President XI and other world leaders to mark the 80th anniversary of the world’s anti-fascist war.

He is also expected to engage in leading Chinese business figures and business leaders to explore ways to improve bilateral trade, investment and financial cooperation. He will turn to the Pakistan-China B2B investment conference in Beijing and emphasize Pakistan’s obligation to promote deeper financial ties.

This visit is part of the ongoing exchange level exchange between Pakistan and China. It emphasizes the importance that both countries are further strengthening their “strategic cooperative partnerships with all-weather,” confirms mutual support for core problems, promotes phase-II in the China-Pakistan economic corridor and maintains regular dialogue on important regional and global developments.
