PM thanks China for approving Pakistan’s call to probe to Pahagam -attack

Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif on Thursday thanked Chinese Prime Minister Li Qiang on Thursday to approve Islamabad’s call for a credible and transparent international study of April 22 -attack in Indically illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK), who left 26 people died.

The Prime Minister made the comments during a meeting with Chinese ambassador Jiang Zaidong at the Prime Minister’s office in Islamabad, where he also expressed gratitude to China for his consistent support in the midst of escalating regional tensions.

He conveyed his best wishes to Chinese President Xi Jinping and Premier Li and appreciated Peking’s understanding of Pakistan’s principle attitude towards India’s recent actions.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Saturday described the Pahagam attack as another example of the ongoing guilt game and said Pakistan is open to any “neutral and transparent” study of the incident in IIOJK.

According to a statement from the Prime Minister’s office, Sharif Pakistan’s unequivocal condemnation of terrorism repeated in all its forms. He noted that Pakistan as a front line state of the global war against terror had sacrificed over 90,000 lives and suffered economic losses of over $ 152 billion in the pursuit of peace and security of the region and the world.

He warned that India’s recent aggressive attitude risks giving up Pakistan’s focus from critical terrorist operations against groups such as IS-KP, TTP and Bla, militant networks operating from Afghan territory.

Sharif also condemned what he called India’s “water aggression,” and described New Delhis reported efforts to weapon water resources as a violation of the Indus Waters Treaty. “No party has the right to unilaterally deviate from international agreements,” he said, calling such actions a serious breach of trust and a threat to regional stability.

The Prime Minister emphasized that a peaceful solution of the Jammu and Kashmir -Tvisten is important for lasting peace in South Asia. “Without solving the Kashmir question, the region cannot achieve sustainable peace,” he added.

Ambassador Jiang thanked the Prime Minister for clearly outlining Pakistan’s perspective and repeating China’s support for peace and stability in South Asia. He confirmed that Beijing shares Islamabad’s vision for a peaceful region and will continue to stand by Pakistan on all core problems.
