PMD warns of thunderstorms, strong wind from May 27 to 31 May

Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has released a weather alarm that predicts widespread wind storms and rain-thunderstorms over the upper and central parts of the country from the night of May 27 to May 31.

The department said that humid currents enter the upper and central regions, and a western wave is expected to move into northern areas before May 28 and trigger active weather patterns.

PMD warned that strong winds, dust-tender weather and hail could damage vulnerable structures such as power lines, trees, solar panels and vehicles in exposed areas such as Islamabad and adjacent regions.

Farmers have been asked to plan agricultural activities accordingly, while the public, travelers and tourists are encouraged to remain cautious during the active weather form.

PMD has also required the relevant authorities to keep aware and take preventative measures to avoid disturbance or dangers.
