PML-N leader accused in Sidra Bibi Honor Killing Case

The district and sessions Judge Abid Rizwan Abid on Saturday admitted the charge of murder on murder of 17-year-old Sidra Bibi for consultation.

Sidra Bibi was allegedly killed in the name ‘honor’ in the Pirwadhai area to rejoin after her divorce from the first man.

The court issued messages to nine charges at the moment in custody and ordered the prison authorities to produce them on September 15. The judge also ordered the arrest and production of 18 absconding suspected, among them the victim’s mother, two sisters, sister -in -law and mother -in -law.

Senior PML-N leader Ismatullah Khan, allegedly head of Jirga, who is said to have sanctioned the killing, is also indicted in the case.

Regular procedures in the case are scheduled to begin on September 15. It is expected that this high -profile murder case can be transferred to a model court for quick trial.

This is the first murder case in which almost all the victim’s immediate and extended relatives as well as neighbors have been named as accused. Those who are accused include the victim’s mother, father, brother, sisters, sister -in -law, father -in -law, uncle, maternal aunt and fatherly aunt.
