PML-N to start Punjab-Over Public Campaign: Rana Sanaullah

Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) has decided to launch a public contact campaign aimed at strengthening and restructuring the party in Punjab, according to the party’s provincial president Rana Sanaullah.

In a speech with journalists outside Jati Umra on Tuesday, Sanaullah said the campaign was launched specifically in Punjab and would later be reviewed by party leaders Nawaz Sharif and Maryam Nawaz.

“I want to lead this campaign myself and will present the whole situation before Nawaz Sharif and Maryam Nawaz after it ends,” he said.

“For now, this campaign is limited to Punjab. When Nawaz Sharif tours other provinces, public collections are also held there,” he added.

In the question of Pakistan Tehreek-E-Insaf (PTI) Foundation President’s imprisonment, Sanaullah said there was no indication that visitors US doctors had made any formal request or discussion about his release.

“They probably only came to ask about his health,” he noted.

Sanaullah said concern about political discourse on social media said everyone had the right to express their opinion.

“Everyone has the right to express themselves on social media, but PTI’s violent brigade is a problem for everyone,” he said.

Sanaullah also criticized Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa chief minister Ali Amin Gandapur and said he should have represented his province at yesterday’s event.

“If the minister does not represent his province of key forums, he will neglect his constitutional responsibility,” he said.

The PML-N leader called for a cessation of fabricated political cases and called on all political parties to participate in constructive dialogue.

“This is something we have advocated since 2018, and we still say it today – political parties should solve problems through negotiation,” he said.

“Everyone knows who is not willing to get to the table,” he added without naming any particular party.

In response to accusations of Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) over the water distribution, Sanaullah stated that Punjab stole water from Sindh.

“Punjab does not steal a single drop of Sindh’s water, nor does it intend,” he said.

He suggested that the so -called nationalist parties in Sindh had created a polarized environment, leaving PPP without any opportunity than to protest.

“We have reassured Bilawal Bhutto and PPP that any water -related dispute will be resolved through dialogue and understanding,” he said. “Punjab has no plan to take what belongs to Sindh.”

In the question of Imran Khan’s political future, Sanaullah repeated that talking with the establishment alone would not resolve the crisis

“The PTI founder was always ready to talk to the establishment, but the problem will not be solved that way,” he said.

“He must be willing to participate in dialogue with political parties if a decision is to be made,” he added.
