Texas Tech officials confirmed everyone, but confirmed Kansas Head coach Lance Leipold’s claim that a pocket knife was thrown against Jayhawks’ sideline on Saturday.

The Lubbock School has had a long-lasting tradition of fans throwing tortillas on the field, as officials voted 15-1 to ban. However, the order has not stopped fans, and it seems that it seems too far.

“A pocket knife was thrown and it hit one of our employees. I mean it’s ridiculous,” Leipold said after KUS 42-17 loss to Red Raiders. “I mean it should be for security and similar things, and it’s a culture that has been accepted to a point and that has not changed. And eventually someone will be seriously injured, unfortunately.”

Officials later said that a flashlight knife was found on Jayhawks’ sideline.

Leipold also said that the BIG 12 officials handled the object “bad”, given that it is no longer allowed.

Leipold was animated in his postgame handshake with Red Raider’s head coach Joey McGuire and called the actions “Bulls —.”

“Coach, I can’t do that. McGuire asked.

“It’s frustrating. I’m frustrated, I know he’s frustrated. We’ve got a new rule in this league, we know the rule, we didn’t follow it and we were punished for it … We need to be better. We need to do a better job and we will,” McGuire said. The Red Raiders received two 15-yard sanctions for fan behavior.

The knife was given to Texas Tech, which transferred it to Texas Tech Police Department. The school also reviews Game Day video.

The Red Raiders are ranked as seventh in the AP vote and has a date in Arizona State over the weekend to improve to 7-0.
