Police, CTD kills five terrorists in Upper Dir

Security forces in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Upper Dir District foiled a major terrorist attack from Afghanistan, killing at least five Fitna-Al-Khwarij terrorists in a joint terrorist surgery Sunday.

According to senior security officials, the intelligence had warned a week earlier about terrorist overgrowing in border areas, causing police and security units to remain on high alarm.

The action of the information launched the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD), District Police, Rapid Response Force (RRF) and Elite Force a targeted operation within dobando, Baricot, Salam Kot and Atandra led by the Upper District Police Officer (DPO) Syed Muhammad Bilal.

During the early morning attack, forces the terrorists surrounded the terrorists from several directions and established control points on key routes to cut off escape and interfere with movement. A command-and-control center was also set up to coordinate the effort.

The most intense exchange of fire took place in Salam Kot, where five terrorists were neutralized. Security staff later recovered the body of one of them, while a search was underway to find the remaining dead and secure the area.

A civilian was killed in the cross -fire, while seven police constables sustained easier injuries that were moved to the hospital and reported to be out of danger.

Local residents have actively supported the security forces and hailed professionalism and decision on the operation.

Inspector of Police (IGP) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Zulfiqar Hameed confirmed to Express Pakinomist that timely intelligence using technology prevented a large -scale attack. “We had information that terrorists were planning to enter the dir. Our forces remained vigilant and successfully foiled their attempts,” he said.

In a statement, IGP HAMEED praised the courage and commitment of the staff involved. “Our officers and jaws are ready to defend the home country at all times. Their willingness to defeat the dishonest designs of terrorists are unshakable. We are proud of their bravery.”

Meanwhile, the security celebration continues in the region, and search operations are underway to ensure that the area is completely cleared of the terrorist’s presence.
