Karachi:

In a new VRI for the high -profile kidnapping and murder of Mustafa Amir, investigation has pointed out the possible involvement of police in the cruel crime.

Sources confirmed that the investigation of the primary accused Armughan Qureshi’s possible relations with police led investigators to his association with investigative officer (IO) Nadeem, who served on PS Gizri. Despite being questioned during the investigation, Io Nadeem was later cleared for any mismatch.

Further details of the investigation suggest that, after registration of a case against Armughan on PS Gizri, he allegedly transferred a specified sum of money to IO Nadeem via the bank account to Rahim, an employee of the suspect. Investigators are currently investigating the motive behind this transaction.

Investigators revealed a disturbing incident from January when Armughan allegedly physically assaulted a woman. According to reports, the suspect subsequently made a telephone call to an unidentified officer in the District South police, calling for the arrest of the victim and filing a manufactured case against her. However, police registrations show that no action was taken on this request.

Draws confessional statement back

Armughan has once again deceived police by refusing the claims in connection with the case. He promised to make a confessional statement in the morning, but when he was presented to the legal magistrate, he refused. The court noted that Armughan’s mental state was not suitable for registering a confessional statement as he had previously admitted the crime but later withdrew his statement.
