Dera Ghazi Khan:
A traffic accident happened near Chowk Chorhatta on Indus Highway, Taunsa Road, where a bus collided with a patrolling motorcycle of dolphin power, resulting in an officer’s death and serious injury to another on Saturday.
The coach hit dolphin power officers while on routine patrol. Officer Rais Khan Raja died at the scene due to the severity of the effect while his colleague Muhammad Ijaz caused critical injuries.
Rescue 1122 team immediately reached the stage and moved both officers to the trauma of Allama Iqbal Teaching Hospital.
After receiving the report, the District Police Officer (DPO) rushed Ali to the stage and later visited the hospital to ask for the wounded officer.
He instructed the police station in question to take quick trial. DPO SYED ALI also instructed the hospital staff to ensure the best possible medical treatment of the wounded officer.
In a speech with the media, DPO Syed Ali said the coach driver was driving carelessly and at high speed, leading to the deadly accident.
He confirmed that Rais Khan, who performed his duty at the time, was martyrated, while Ijaz Ahmed remains undergoing serious injuries.
Police have arrested the coach driver and registered a case against him for negligence and reckless driving. Additional litigation is underway.
DPO Syed Ali announced that the martyred officer Rais Khan would be put to rest with full police.
