Police reject terrorist attacks on Bannu Post

Police rejected a terrorist attack on their Fateh Khel post on the outskirts of Bannu City and killed three terrorists in a harsh exchange of fire in which a brave policeman laid his life, police said Sunday.

Unidentified terrorists launched a tough attack on police speech late last night using small and heavy weapons. Police responded immediately and participated in a heavy exchange of fire and neutralized three attackers while they wounded several others, they said.

The report said 82 militant attacks were registered across the country in July, resulting in the death of 101 people and damage to 150 others. Among those killed were 47 civilians, 36 security staff and 18 militants.

In contrast, the report said June saw 78 militant attacks, resulting in 100 fatalities and 189 injuries. Julien’s number indicated an increase of 5% in the militant attacks compared to the previous month, the report added.
