Police seize fake currency, forged PIA, ANF letters in Karachi

Garden police have seized local and foreign currency along with forged PIA and ANF attachment letters, fake cheques, fake property documents and materials used to produce fake US dollars, including black paper and chemicals.

According to details, police arrested a suspect identified as Behzad, allegedly involved in producing fake currency. A District City Police spokesman said the suspect was found in possession of fake Pakistani currency notes and US dollars.

Officers also found forged PIA and ANF appointment letters, fake cheques, fake property papers and equipment used to print fake currency notes. The suspect, along with his accomplices, are accused of defrauding unsuspecting citizens by promising them jobs and issuing fake employment letters.

Police said the suspect had been involved in counterfeiting for about four years and had been making dies to replicate the exact size of notes. His accomplices allegedly work as medical representatives and call center employees. A bag full of counterfeit notes and a large number of blank papers cut to the size of bank notes were also seized.

DIG Syd has announced certificates of appreciation for SHO Garden Police Station and the police team involved in the action.

A case has been registered and further investigation is underway.
