Rawalpindi:
An earning police main contribution for the Punjab police, allegedly caught in filming inappropriate images of women in toilets-cum-rest-rest in Tehsil headquarters Hospital in Gujar Khan in the Rawal Pindi district, have been formally arrested and booked in a case.
A citizen intervened, caught the suspect on the spot and handed him to the police with his cellphone. According to police sources, a case has been formally registered and a study is currently underway. The suspect has been identified as a police officer associated with the training wing in Lahore.
The first information report (FIR), filed by a citizen named Bilal Hussain, says he had visited the hospital for medical treatment when he observed a man who catches pictures of women inside the toilet. The same person was also reportedly seen photographing women elsewhere in the hospital’s premises.

When he became suspicious, Hussain confronted the individual – identified as Aqeel Abbas, residing in Rajgaan – and controlling his cellphone. It allegedly contained inappropriate photographs of women. The suspect was then detained by Bilal and handed over to the authorities.
Police officials confirmed that the defendants were dressed in civilian clothing at the time of the incident. A case has been registered in accordance with sections 354, 292 and 509 of the Pakistan Penal Code (PPC) and further investigation is underway.
Saddar SP Nabeel Khokhar confirmed that the defendant is actually a member of the Lahore police training wing.
According to Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Syed Daniyal, police received a complaint from a resident who said the suspect, a operating main constable sent to the Lahore Office for the Punjab Police, was allegedly involved in taking up women while using the toilets in the hospital’s departments.

He said the suspect had previously been booked to rape a widow, but the case was later rejected after the suspect reconciled with the victim. The case was withdrawn and he was reinstated, Daniyal added.
Gujar Khan police said several compromised videos of women used the toilets on his cellphone, which have been sent for forensic verification.
According to THQ Medical Superintendent (MS) Dr. Sarmad Kiyani there are no cameras in the hospital toilets, and the only cameras in the hospital are in the corridors, not in the toilets.
In March, a Tiktoker was arrested in Swabi to make videos and photos of women and girls while shopping and uploading them to his account. In December, the Khanewal police arrested a suspect who allegedly filmed female customers in the dressing room in a clothing dealer in Khanewal with his cellphone.
Similarly, in last June, the Lahore police reserved owners and staff at a private girls’ hostel in the Johar Town area in a case for allegedly registering videos of residents through hidden cameras installed in laundry room.
