- Four polk speaker models, all with improved sound and weather resistant
- Easier to install, even in difficult to get a seat
- From $ 225 per Couple
Polk Audio has updated its atrium series of outdoor speakers starting at a very affordable $ 225 (then about £ 169 or AU $ 345, giving or taking).
Polk has made speakers for the big outdoor in ages – atrium first launched back in 1991 – and the latest models come with improved weather resistance, more versatile mounting options and “improved sonic performance”, which from POLK should not be taken easily.
POLK AUDIO ATRIUM -WARE PLACE 2025: Models and pricing
There are four models in the area: ATRIUM 4, ATRIUM 5, ATRIUM 6 AND ATRIUM 8SDI. Prices range from $ 225 per Pair for ATRIUM 5 to $ 550 for ATRIUM 8SDI.
The middle class drivers are now injection molded mineral-filled or aired polypropylene, the same materials used in the Polk’s LSI series, and the tweeters are anodized aluminum. ATRIUM 6, 7 and 8SDI also get water-repellent Powerport bass venting that sets up the low end with around 3DB.
Both tweeters and woofers have rubber surroundings, and the speakers have a new wide coverage of baffle design, as Polk says, offers better sound dispersion than previous models. Grids and brackets are aluminum to eliminate rust problems and make the speakers last longer outdoors.
Another key update is the new speed lock mounting system that Polk says makes the installation much easier-so much that you can install the speakers with a hand “even in difficult accessible places”.
As before the atrium speakers come with a wide range of standards compliance, including ASTM D5894-UV SALT fog, Mil Standard 810 Demolition and MIL-STD 883 method 1009.8 for salt and corrosion.
The new atrium speakers are now available in black or white, and Polk says they are also paintable, so you can customize them to fit any outdoor decor.
